Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 29, 2026

1. Introduction

This policy describes how AllergySearch (search-allergy.com, the "Site") handles user information.

2. Information we collect

The Site may collect: (1) preference data stored in cookies or in your browser's local storage (selected allergens, display settings, etc.); (2) registration details such as email addresses when business owners create an account; (3) content submitted through the contact form; and (4) access logs such as pages viewed and browser type.

The contact form does not require an account or a name. Your message, the page you sent it from, and the email address if you choose to give one are stored so that we can reply and keep a record of what was reported. Giving an address is optional; without one we have no way to answer. To limit abuse of the form we also store a one-way hash of your IP address — the address itself is not stored, and the hash is not used to identify you or linked to anything else.

3. How we use information

Collected information is used to provide and improve the service, store user preferences, respond to inquiries, and prevent abuse.

4. Cookies and browser storage

The Site uses cookies and your browser's local storage to keep settings such as your selected allergens and search conditions. These settings are currently held in local storage. What you selected — which allergens, and how many — stays on your device and is never sent to our servers or to any third party. For analytics we may send whether the allergen filter is in use, which does not include what was selected.

Except for what the site needs to work, this storage happens only if you allow it via the consent banner or “Cookie and storage settings” in the footer, and you can change or withdraw your consent at any time; withdrawing it deletes those settings from your device. Everything stated here applies the same way whether the storage method is a cookie or local storage.

Your country and language selection are stored in cookies. They hold nothing beyond what the URL of the page you are viewing already shows, and are treated as necessary for routing you to the right version of the site, so they fall outside the consent banner.

We also store a record that you acknowledged the notice shown before allergen information is displayed. It holds no preferences or identifiers and is treated as necessary, so it is not covered by the consent banner.

You can also clear or block cookies and site data in your browser, but some features may stop working.

5. Advertising and analytics

The Site uses Google AdSense, a third-party advertising service, and Google Analytics 4. These services use cookies to display ads based on your interests and to analyze usage.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. For details on third-party use of cookies, see Google's policies and terms.

6. Disclosure to third parties

The Site does not provide personal information to third parties without consent, except as required by law. External services (such as Supabase) are used for authentication and data storage.

Maps are drawn with tiles from the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (OpenStreetMap outside Japan), and the "find on the map from the address" feature in the operator console uses the same authority's address search. These requests go directly from your browser to those services, so your IP address, and for the address search the address you typed, reach them. No cookies are set.

7. Management, access, correction, and deletion

The Site manages collected information appropriately and works to prevent leaks. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your registered information, please contact us via the contact form.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as necessary. The revised policy takes effect when posted on this page.

9. Contact

For questions about this policy, please use the contact form in the footer, or write to contact@search-allergy.com.

This site uses cookies and browser storage (local storage) to remember your allergen selection and search conditions. Those required for the site to work are always on. For details, see Privacy Policy.
